I Still have something that is draining my batteries over night. I am taking the alternator in right now to test the voltage regulator. Should also mention that while the glow plugs cycle at first start the tach moves up to about 350 rpm. what causes this? If anybody knows of anything that will draw power over night and how to test them please let me know.
If you disconnected the alternator and still get the draw then try this. Lift off the main neg battery terminal and connect a small test light between it and the neg battery post. If there is a current draw somewhere the light should glow. Now start pulling fuses. If, when you pull one, the light goes out you need to then check that circuit.
I did the test light trick and found the fuse, does anybody have the fuse box diagram for a 94. It is in the box under the hood. It is the first little fuse closest to the fender. 20A.
my owners manual says fuse#1, 20a is for headlamp flash to pass and daytime running lamps (Canada only). That's from my 92 F250. Autozone.com has wiring diagrams under repair guides that might tell you more. You have to register on their site (free) to access repair guides.
I just found a link to power dist box that shows fuse #1 20A = radio I guess tomorrow ill turn the key on without the fuse and see if the radio stays off. If so that should be easy enough to fix i know exactly which wire is the hot wire to the radio.
