I found a fan shroud for Bubba at the Santa Paula yard a few months ago. They had a few newer Fords there. Worth a look.

I stopped by for a quick look inside U Pick Parts in Sun Valley before a flight out of Burbank this week.

The yard was maybe half the size of Pick a Part. The only decent truck with anything useful was a Red 97 dually 2wd crew cab.

If anyone is looking for a red front and rear with fold down center console style bench seats it was all there for the taking and in decent condition.

Besides that, the yard was

On Monday morning I stopped by for a quick look inside Pick Your Part in Sun Valley before a flight out of Burbank.

I was amazed when the very first truck I saw was one I knew well from my childhood.

This truck was used in a family business to run mail deliveries to the post office among other things. One of my cousins crashed it a few years ago while using it to help my grandparents move. I was always interested in getting my hands on the truck, but the accident sent those plans out the door. I was surprised and excited to see it there since it was crashed about 2 years ago. I wasn't sure what year it was so of course I checked it out. It's a 77 F-350 Camper Special. Bummer that it's trash.

BTW I forgot to mention that it has a Dana 70 rear with 3.73 gears if anyone is in need. There is also a 1979 F250 4x2 SuperCab Ranger XLT in the yard right now with a 460 motor. The 79 F250 has a Dana 60 with 3.54 gears.

I wish I could tell you I know where you could find a short bed, but all I know about right now are long beds. Hopefully someone else can chime in with info to help you out.

Short bed as in Styleside?

Call a wrecker have them put it on the wreckers hot line. Make sure if it's a Styleside bed...tell them 1973/76, 1977/79's have fuel doors.

yea, the style side short 7' bed is what I would love to find. Thanks for the reminder about the fuel doors too. I would love to have the dual fuel doors, but Im realistic. I cant really seem to find any short bed complete trucks either. Maybe, I'll just have to a full bed make over on the one ive already got. I was hoping for a spare bed so I could work on it over time, as my truck is my DD and I dont want to take it apart for any length of time.

Southern California Truck Wrecking / 8229 S. Alameda Street / Los Angeles 90001 / 323-587-3144 .. ask for Marty.

Closed weekends, but as I mentioned to Sean, will open up on Sunday, just for SoCal Chapter members, if at least 20 sign up.

The thing is, lotsa people sign up for chapter events, but only a few actually show up.

I spoke to Marty last year and he was receptive to the idea of hosting a G2G, but too was dubious about more than a few showing up.

Anyway, he appreciates our business .

Dunno about the rest of y'all, but he appreciates my bizness, cuz I've spent over 300 grand there since 1967. And I quadrupled my money + when I sold the parts, 99% of which, were NOS

When FoMoCo's Long Beach assy plant closed, SoCal bought the parts. When FoMoCo's Pico Rivera assy plant closed, SoCal bought the parts. When Kott & Smolar Ford in Wilmington burned, SoCal bought the parts.

When Thomas Cadillac (formerly Don Lee) at 7th and Bixel closed, So Cal bought the parts. When the Studebaker/Packard & Mopar parts warehouses closed in Vernon, SoCal bought the parts.

Excepting the Mopar stuff, I bought most of these parts from SoCal.
