Hey everyone, just wanted to say hello and thanks for having a local chapter! I live in Ventura and just inherited my grandfathers 69 F100. I starting to gather parts and information to do a complete rebuild/ restoration in the coming months. I am sure I will be asking a lot of questions and I appreciate any info or advise sent my way. If there is ever anything I can do let me know!
Dave, I would like to talk to you about your under the bed fuel cell conversion. I really want to do this but have heard some issues. Do you have any pictures of the install?
How many posts do I need before I can upload pictures?
Since you're a site supporter, you should be able to upload image files from your computer already. To do so, scroll down below the post you are composing and you'll see another box titled "additional options". Click on "manage attachments" and you'll get an uploader tool that you can use to place the attachments in your post.
I only have pictures of the fill for te cell right now. Ill snap some pictures for you ASAP. It's a simple installation however if your spare is behind the axle under the bed you'll need to find somewhere else for the tire.

Thanks! That would be a huge help. My father in law has a 65 F100 and is moving the gas tank but he is having a shop do all the fabrication for him, i guess when you have money you loose the joy in doing it yourself. I don't like the idea of the fill being in the floor of the bed and i'm not too keen on cutting a fill door into the rear bed side, any other ideas? I have heard about the issues of of behind the license plate, what about getting really craft and putting it behind the tail light something like this......
also check out the march issue of classic trucks magazine. Kevins truck is in there as well. If you go down to the Western Nats in Anaheim this summer Kevin is usually there with that beautiful truck
Welcome Chris, join us at Pismo in 2 weeks so we can see that F100!
I would love to be able to join you guys on the trip. I was reading about it in another thread. However I have a weekend wine tasting trip planned with my wife that weekend and i have already postponed it twice and when i proposed delaying it again so we could go to the gathering, I was told, "if you cancel on me again you'll be sleeping in that truck!" My only question is where am I going to mount the TV?????
