Just looking for some feedback on what I'm diagnosing as a leaking heater core. I know this is a big PITA so I don't want to pull the dash if it's not needed. First I've had what I assumed was water on my passenger floorboard for about 6 months. I thought it was the A/C condensation vent that was causing the issue because I haven't smelled any antifreeze. Now that we are in the coldest part of the winter my heater is putting out very little heat. I still can't smell any antifreeze but I haven't used my A/C in months and the floor is still getting wet. I haven't lost a significant amount of coolant but I did have to put about a quart in it to get back up to full. I checked the heater hoses and the inlet is hot and outlet feels empty and cold. I have already ordered the heater core. I plan to dig into it next weekend but I wanted to ask if the A/C system needs to be discharged and does the evaporator need to come out in order to pull the heater core? Anyone that has done this before please let me know if there are any tip and or tricks that you could share.
I have never had a heater core go bad without being able to smell it? Also the a/c runs when you have the heater on to pull excess moisture out of the air. So make sure its antifreeze before you start.
That's good to know. But it doesn't explain the lack of heat. Any ideas? I've never seen a vehicle this new with a bad heater core but it's the only thing that I can come up with.

No it does not. Unfortunately I have never disabled one on these trucks so I'm not much help. My only guess is the door that switches between heat/ac is stuck or broken.
Temperature blend door notorious to go out. I have just replaced mine a third time ('06). So, you could have two issues, the temp blend door causing the hot/cold issue, and an A/C condensation issue causing the dampness. I had the dampness issue a few years back. Turned out to be caused by a missing 90 degree rubber fitting on the draintube through the firewall. At least that is what I recall, though I was also tracing a similar problem on my daughter's car about the same time. May have confused the two repair solutions. What I recall is the tube protruded from the passenger side firewall and was slightly obscured by the bottom edge of the firewall insulation. I think it may have been blown off by an underbody spray wash.
