Ignition coils on 5.4

Looking for some opinions and help.. how difficult is it to change coils on my 05 uperduty and would you reccomend motorcraft or what do you know about accel? I changed the plugs about 20000 miles ago and 3 weeks ago took it to the dealer because of a mis under load, was told that i had 2 plugs fouled out and needed to change plugs. Of course I told them I found that hard to believe and only change the 2 bad ones. 3 weeks later and here I am with the same mis. was told it could be ignition coils. Thanks for any and all input.

Motorcraft is highly recommended.

Very easy. I changed a couple out on my v10. One screw holds them in, unplug, unscrew, pull off of the plug, grease new one, push onto plug, screw on, plug in.

Is there an easy way to find out which coil is not working properly?

Take it to Autozone if you don't have a code scanner. It will tell you what cylinder(s) is/are misfiring.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the $100 generic sets on ebay from Global and other suppliers. Accel's are definitely a waste of money. Or if you want to feel warm and fuzzy inside you can drop around $100 for one MC Coil.

Advance Auto Parts has them. Order them online, use a promo code, and select that you'll pick them up from the store. If you use the promo VISA it takes $30 off your order. 2 MC coils for $95 after the promo.

When you get the truck scanned, look for PENDING CODES. Those will point you to the cylinder that has a miss.

Don't forget spark plug boots.

The COPs are easy to change. Unplug the COP from the wiring harness, remove one bolt and pull the COP out. Reverse the procedure to install the new one. Don't get much more simple. The new COP comes with a new boot.

Buy Motorcraft COPs. You can get them from Rock Auto for under $44 each. Plus you can get a 5% discount code from the sponsor forum. http://www.rockauto.com/

Look on Ebay and get them from UneekSupply or Global entire set of 8 for under $80.00 shipped. Hundreds of us have bought them so far and are very happy with them. The Motorcraft ones themselves are made in China also.

Thank you all very much for the responses. I was having a hard time believing that $25.00 spark plugs were fouling out already after only 20000 miles. I will have to swing into autozone and see which one has the mis or maybe I should part with some of my wife's moldy money and replace them all.....
