Hey guys, Is anyone running these heads on their trucks? been doing some looking and reading and listening. From what I hear they have a much more efficent combustion chamber any truth to this?
also better economy from them? Along with the numbers from what I understand flat out stomp the e7ee heads in flow
Anybody out there have some answers?
They are better than the E7TE, no doubt, stomping performace..hardly. Save your pennies for some good heads like world product, twisted wedge, etc. You can also get a pair of the E7's ported to flow better than the GT40's for about $500 to your door.
I would look into some of the aftermarket heads, like FordPerf was saying.
Probably one of the most liked is the AFR's. I'm running Trick Flow on my 393 stroker and have run Edelbrocks also, they both are good heads. You should look into (if $$ permits)Edelbrock intake, exhaust (with headers) and possibly a cam upgrade to go with these heads to realize the potential of a new set of high flow heads.
I have GT40P heads and I like the power I am getting from them. You will need to by headers designed for those heads. I went with the MAC headers, they fit up nice, but the spark plugs are not easy to get too.
i've got them on my 91 351w, can't really say if they are any better, and its a pain in the rear to get headers, ford racing is the only ones i could find, good luck
I've used FMS headers with P heads........you can make an EZ spark plug tool by cutting a socket and grinding the end to accept an open end 3/4" wrench. I also used asbestos spark plug boots to be safe.
