Had I known this when I was driving, I would have gotten it on one of my many trips to a customer out there, Singh Auto Parts......
Hi guys,
I was doing some work on the steering column in my 1971 F250 this weekend when I noticed that the neutral sensor switch pin fell off. At the time I did not know what the heck it was until I tried to turn on the truck.
Anyways, I cant figure out how this pin is supposed to be installed back on the colum. Does anyone have any pictures or diagram that may show how this is installed? Needless to say I am unable to see anything on the column where this pin is supposed to be installed therefore any pictures would be helpful.
With out going through an reading all the post,
I used a small mirror and a flashlight to look into the pin location to see how it when back in place on my X father in laws 70 cs 25 yrs. ago.
It's probably easier to just pull the column, in hindsight. Many years ago, when I was a lot more limber, I fixed a buddys by snaking a piece of plumbers tape around the shift tube and putting a stove bolt through both ends to secure it, leaving enough stick up to hit the switch. All with the column in place.
