Replacement pyrometer

The pyro on my turbo (ATS on an '86 6.9 IDI) doesn't do a thing. The gauge on the steering column doesn't seem to have any connections other than from the pyrometer itself and two wires for a light (which also doesn't work) ...

What's more likely, that the pyrometer has failed or that the gauge is malfunctioning?

And where do you guys recommend I get replacements from?

most of the time(99.5%)when the pyrometer dies it is a bad thermocouple.
you need to match the thermocouple to the gauge.

it depends on what gauge you have.

i have a banks setup in my 88, and as such got the thermocouple from banks when it died.

the 02 has a stewart warner setup in it, so if it dies i will have to get the thermocouple from them, or just replace everything with new.

My thermocouple is dead i believe, havent tested it just yet. but i had gotten ahold of banks via email and told them about it, and they told me i couldnt just get the thermocouple, that i would have to buy a whole new pyro kit. Do you happen to have a part number for the gauge and thermocouple? both would be nice if its not a pain.

Here is a link I found for thermo couples. I can find others but have to get home first. Can't remeber brand I use, I had to replace it. I found part number on manufaturer's web site, then found thermo couple on google for 1/2 that price.
