Does anyone know what axle gear ratio options were available from the factory in a 78-79 F100/F150 4x4? A friend has a '78 F150 that he thinks has 4.10 gears in it, but I'm not sure if that was an option for the half tons. I know the F250/F350s 4x4s could be purchased with 4.10s.

 

1977 was the last year 4WD was available in F100's.

1978/79 F150 4WD & Bronco:

Front Driving Axle available ratios: 3.00-1 / 3.50-1 / 4.09-1.

Corresponding 4WD Rear Axle (9") ratios: 3.00-1 / 3.50-1 / 4.11-1.

 

Yup, the only two I know about were the most common options. (I've had both in my truck) 4.10's and 3.50's I'm sure there were more options, I just can't say for sure what they are.
