I have wanted a remote start on my early 99 f250 PSD for a long time now and I figured id ask. Has anyone tackled one of these them selves and if so which one did you go with. I very leary about doing it myself. Id appreciate any info. thank you in advance.

I just installed a Viper 5901 in my truck this weekend and I like it so far.
If you are good with wiring electronics I'd say go for it.
The hardest part for me was I'm 6'2" and 260lb and getting old working under a truck dash was tough.

 

i installed one latst year and love it, not real hard and im not a wiring expert go for it

 

I put one on an intrepid several years ago that came from JC whitney. It was not too bad to install and could be programmed so that glow plugs could heat up. I have not put any of the later ones on but I have read about them and they are lot more friendly these days.

I installed or had one installed 2 years ago. I love it. Its a autopage remote start with a 2way remote. Has a small little screen that shows you if your truck actually started, or even if your alarm goes off the remote will beep. I was going to tackle it myself but my color blindness reared its ugly head when i got a look at all the wires.
