10w-30 is an option that isn't mentioned nearly as often as it should be. I use it year around with excellent results. 141,xxx mi. with 7,500 OCI's, original injectors and I have never experienced stiction. The kicker its about half of the price of a syn.
Agreed... Shear stable, easy cold morning starts, and good UOA to back it up.
Any UOA updates on the John Deere 50 plus CJ formula?
2003.
235,000 miles.
All New England miles.
Going into it's 9th winter.
All original injectors.
Only started with 5w-40 Rotella on my oil change coming into this winter.
Prior to that 15w-40 all the time .... Amzoil, Rotella, Motorcraft, anything I could afford.
I plan to go back to 15w for the summer .... but maybe I'll look into the 10w-30. I have a few months to read up on it.

Those are some serious miles you have there man, definitely a good argument for the 15w...
