Oil Question

I changed my oil this past weekend with the cold weather i filled it up with the 10-30 that my manual said to use in cold weather. naturally, it is warm this week. I am going to be towing a 30ft. travel trailer about 500 mi. this weekend. as it is supposed to be in the 50's should i change back to the 15-40 or does everyone think it ok to leave the 10-30 in?

10W30 will be fine. 50* isn't really that warm and the mornings will probably be cooler. Even if it was warmer than 50*, with the fresh oil you won't have any problems.

Most guys will switch to a 5-40 when it gets cold. I run a 5-40 full synthetic all year round, with no problems. I didn't even know you could get a diesel rated 10-30. What oil did you put in it?

yep I have run rotella T 10w30 for the last 2 winters now. Great for start up and for the wallet compared to synthetic
