Throwing the "bones" out there, she (my wife) went IM'ing for other "bones"..aint that a bit#$...Not sure any intentions were there, but the thought of it being done, being bored..etc, just doesnt hold water to well. Giving the benefit of the doubt, prior to marriage, there was no halo over my head, so with no physical harm done, i'm going to swallow the pride and see where it leads. Somewhat sucks, because my 7yr old daughter, besides her bio-mother, my wife is, who she knows...

The internet.... people think what they do online doesn't matter. It is because of stuff like that why there is no fb,Ms, or twits in our house. The wife and I do not need any exes or anyone else stirring up drama.

Here's the real chitty part about it all, my grandfather literally has days left to live. He's here with me under the hospice care. He bed written with CHF. So, basicalky lights are on but no ones home anymore. Hellofa time to pull this crap when my grandfather has taken VERY good to her these 12yrs...

 

Sometimes we have to get stomped a few times before we learn that it is not a battle worth fighting and we should live to fight another day.

When I went through this, I abbreviated the drama by leaving with the kids - because I knew it wasn't going to improve. It took a couple of months of soul searching and ruminating, but the "fresh crap" stopped flowing right away. The three kids didn't really like it then (I won sole custody), but as adults - they agree it was a good call. The mom died of an overdose a few years back (like I said, it wasn't going to improve), but I have a happy/healthy/clean life and family.

That's what I did, your mileage may vary.

My firefighter son is dating a really sweet girl (only two months at the moment), but she is formally diagnosed as bipolar. I have nothing against folks who battle things like that by any means, and feel compassion for what they must go through, but her paranoia crap is already getting really old to him. On top of that, she's an only child with everything having been spoon fed to her, Momma wears the pants, Dad only speaks when Mom and Daughter are not around, and Mom and Daughter will actively deceive Dad to get their way.

My wife have seen the writing on the wall for weeks now, and my son is just now getting a clear picture of what may be ahead of him. We've just sat quietly by and watched so he can learn to be his own man and see things for himself, but we weren't sure that he has been seeing everything, so we were about ready to sit him down for a chat. However, just this weekend he opened up to us about what he's been seeing, thinking, and how he's been slowly putting the brakes on. He sees it all pretty clearly, and knows that he doesn't want what appears to be in store for him if he sticks with her and they end up getting married. So, it turns out he does have his eyes wide open and his head is on straight after all, and he is definitely man enough to walk away if things don't change (and they won't). It's not so much that "she's not playing her cards right" as it is that "she just doesn't have to right cards to play"!

Hang in there, Tim... think with the right head, know what you want/need, keep the long game in mind, and be honest with yourself about all of that.
