I'm going to jump in on this. I'm looking at a 2000 Limited with the 7.3. It has 185k miles and has a couple minor issues like the rear door doesn't unlock using the power locks and there is some really minor surface rust under the lip of one of the doors. ( owned a 2000 Expedition before and had the same rust problem ) The interior looks really good and the drivers seat isn't ripped!
The current owner bought it with 135K on it and has history documentation along with his maintaince records. He has had the front brakes replaced in May 2010 along with ball joints and shocks in April 2011. He has the transmission and diff fluids changed every year.
He is asking $11,250.00 ( Canadian ) I'm very much considering buying it. I'm just concerned with this mileage, what stuff on the 7.3 will I have to look at replacing soon? ( I know it's hard to guess but what are common stuff that goes )
I initially wanted a green with gold trim X but ended up settling for the white with gold trim EB 7.3 X.
Yes I still kind of wish it was the green and gold but I am perfectly happy with the white and gold.
Everyone has their thing though. My most important points that I looked for was 7.3 motor, 2wd, no rust. After those important ones anything else in my favor was just a plus. If color is one of your wifes most important points then so be it.
