ya its normal. there are a bunch of unsed parts in that kit. it was made for more then one aplacation.
So that branch tube O ring ,fitting in there a little loose is normal? Got me kinda nervous, you would think it would fit kinda tight like the yellow one at the pump. And I figured all those extra O rings were because I bought an IH kit, I guess there's a smaller version of the 6.0 that takes the same parts.
ya its normal. there has to room for the o-ring to squash down.
that kit fits vt 265,vt365, maxforce 6.0 and im sure others
The only two applications I'm aware of are the 6.0L Powerstroke (a. k. a. VT365 in Navistar speak) and the 4.5L V6 (a. k. a. VT275 in Navistar speak). The Maxxforce line of engines began with the 6.4L if I'm not mistaken.
Thats wild they actually have a 6.0 with 2 cylinders lopped off, wonder how they run and what their' application is. By the way, Mike , a little off topic, but do they still offer the diesel in the new vans, and I heard they are going to Sprint style vans next year and doing away with Econolines?

The few that I have driven feel gutless to me with the two missing cylinders, even though they have two turbos. But that's just my opinion.
And no, for 2011 onward, E-Series customers desiring a heavy duty application can only have them with the V10 gassers. THANK GOD!!! And yes, I heard that same rumour too, that Ford will be bringing over the "full size" Transits to replace the E-Series.

Ya know, I put both O rings on and walked away for abt. 20 minutes when I came back, pump in hand to bolt on, I noticed the branch tube O ring with a little oil around it as oil had somehow percolated up from the branchtube, I know they say oil on the O ring is good, so I let it fly, now I'm wondering if I should have wiped it down first, I'm thinking it should be OK, probably squeezed any excess out, but in the back of my mind wondering if it compromised the seal if oil was left on the flange surface, but you would know how sensitive the oil system is!
the 6 cyclinder was in the LCF also know as low cab foward.
....... as well as Navistar's CF Series trucks. Both trucks also used Ford's 5R110W Torqshift transmissions.
Speaking of which, Moe have you ever seen a chassis truck that used a 4.5L (VT-275) engine mated to an Allison transmission before? I have, and I just thought it was interesting.
And no, E-Series trucks have used the 6.0L from model years 2004 on up to, and including 2010.
