I've got Lightforce driving lights that I want to trigger with my highbeam circuit so I don't have to reach for the upfitter switch all the time. Has anyone done this mod and if so how did you do so? I really need to do this as I have to drive 1000 miles to go to work and back home every rotation.
I would probably just splice into the wire going to one of the high beams and use that wire to trigger a relay. Wouldn't even have to run wires inside the cab that way.
Splice the highbeam wire and send it to the upfitter switch. Then send it from the upfitter to a relay. Then use the relay to power the driving lights. That'll let you use the switch as a master on off while having the automation.
I guess I forgot to mention I'd like to keep the upfitter switch as a master on/off.
In that case you would need to find the wire under the dash for the high beams. (A wiring diagram would be very helpful here) Splice into that and run a wire to the upfitter switch and then from the upfitter to the relay for the driving lights.
Have any of you seen the back of the upfitter switches? They look like they are on a buss bar from what I can see in the schematic . I don't want to do surgery if I can help it.

Reason: unfinnished sentance
Use one of the highbeam wires under the hood to trigger a relay.
On the relay, instead of powering it off of the battery, power it off of an upfitter switch that is rated high enough to run your lamps.
This way when the upfitter switch is activated, the aux lights will go on and off with the highbeams. When the upfitter switch is off, the aux lights will not activate at all.

Simple
Why didn't I think of that? Thanks man, super simple.
