I called truckaddons.com, bada bing, bada boom, $299.95 w/free shipping. Rancho 9000XL's on the way. The guy (Brett) was polite and seemed to want my business and he got it.

That is how it is supposed to work.

Just an update here. I got to drive on the road that gets my truck oscillating the most around here today (and going to be back on it tomorrow).

I have the power to the MyRide system on a switch. So when I started out I had it off (no pressure - set to 0) and the last setting I had it on was the highway setting 6f/3r. I kicked it on and let the shocks pressurize and it really helped out on the bounce.

The MyRide setting (last one on the controller) was set to 9f/9r, so I cranked it up to 9's real quick and it was like riding a bouncy steel brick.

After that I adjusted to 7f/3r, making the front a bit stiffer than the stock highway setting. This seemed to ride even better - it kept the front end from reacting too much and left the rear a little softer. I am going to keep it like this for a while and see how it ends up doing over a week or so.

I will see if I can get another video. I didn't get a good chance to today.

Side note - the back of my truck was about 300lbs lighter than normal today.

Thanks for the update. I've found mine set at 6/4 (fr/rr) seems to be about ideal. I may lighten up the back another though. Lovin' the ability to adjust these (probably even moreso for you, no need to crawl under!)

You guys with your fancy, dancy adjust-as-you-go systems.... I much prefer pulling off the freeway several times and crawling under the truck in the mud...

Sorry to dig this up but, I am wanting to put the Rancho 9000's on the new truck (had them on the 2500HD and they worked great!) but am getting the line from Rancho that they do not do a stock height shock for the 2011 or the 2012. I posted the first request with the Rancho guy on the board that KC8 got his part numbers from but he was traveling last week and have not heard from him today (even PM'd him).

My take from reading this thread is that Front P/N is 999042 and Rear P/N is 999254 (although the 2010 F350 calls for 999047) but has 2.5" of lift which I do not want as I want to retain stock height so as to still get the truck in my garage. It is a 2012 F350 SC/SB 4x4. Should I run with the 999042 and 999254???

BTW - KC8 I was born in Dayton and grew up in Park Lane and went to school in New Carlisle...where abouts do you reside in central Ohio?

FishingNut,

What I did when I bought my truck was to go out and find the shocks for a 2009 Ford F-350. Rancho's site and part numbers are terrible.

You will see two different part numbers for rear shocks floating around here. I went against popular recommendation and purchased the 2009 F-350 shocks because the part number floating around here actually matches the 2009 F-250. Since our rear blocks are two inches taller, I went with the F-350 shock and it fits / operates fine on my truck.

I have a 2011 F-350. The reason why I did not order the RS999254 was because it is listed as an F-250 Part number for the 2011 and 2009 trucks. Since the P/Ns are the same for both years, I looked at a 2009 F-350 and it has the 047 PN. This is why I went with the different part number as I believe that the 254 is designed for the F-250. I'm sure they will both work just fine, but I think the shock parts of the suspension are pretty much the same as the 08-10 models.

That was my choice. I have not installed them yet, but once I get them this week, I'll keep y'all updated.

I PM'ed the Rancho guy here at FTE, he confirmed the 042 and 254 were the correct shocks for my truck (in sig). If the shock Steve bought works as well, then you have some options for the rear. Looking at the 047 on Rancho's site, it looks like it's made for the F-350 with a 2.5" lift (RS6511 or RS6525B).

The part number for the F-250 with the 2.5" lift (or stock F-350) is the 254. It's the same part number for the stock F-250 as well, so one shock looks like it's covering 3 applications (stock F250,F250 w/ 2.5" lift, stock F350).

I have the 254's, no problems, Steve has the 047's and no problems. Looks like either one works.

Looks like we have a clear answer on the fronts at least..

I will honestly say....had these threads not been here stating how great the Rancho shocks were....there would be zero chance I would have spent my money on them.

Their site is terrible and a disgrace to the product that they make.

Lucky enough, there were some people who pioneered through their mess and made some gambles with the part numbers .

I did not explain it correctly above - the tech who responded to my email said they did not do stock height shocks for our trucks.
