Major Help Please, I have a 2007 Ford F350 4x4 Automatic with around 110,000 Miles. I have been having some transmission problems have tried several different things to fix it, however I keep coming up with the same problem. I keep getting different transmission codes. Here are the following codes that I keep getting. P0751 P0756 P0761 P0766 What started all of this is the transmission not shifting down from 3rd to 1st when coasting for a ways to a stop. When I would start from a stop the transmission would take a little bit, then down shift. It then started to hesitate in shifting into forward from park. I then changed both filters and the fluid. Since this everything has went downhill. I then started getting a couple transmission codes. The first time I got any codes it was P0766 and P0761. I then got the ford book and tested all the solenoids and found all to be within par according to the ford book, however I did find the internal wiring harness to be out of specs. I cleaned everything up and put everything back together while I waited for the wiring harness to show up. The transmission was doing well for a couple of days then started acting up again. I also noticed that the shifting lever was hard to shift from Drive to Reverse. I pulled everything apart again and changed the wiring harness out. Everything again worked well for a couple of days then started up again. I have noticed that the shifting from Drive to Reverse is getting harder as things progress. I then pulled everything apart again and changed out the shifting rod. The transmission tested good for about 5 miles and now it is worse than it ever has been. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks
Oddly enough I had numerous odd transmission problems as well. After virtually rebuilding the transmission I figured out that I had two grounded glow plug connectors that were pulling my batteries down and damaging them along with reducing the alternator output. After clearing those up, replacing both batteries and the alternator my transmission straightened up. The electronics on these "new" trucks are extremely sensitive to electrical problems!! These newer trucks also have many issues with "harness rub" causing mysterious problems to crop up. Just a thought for you.
Viracocha thanks, I have not thought about the batteries being low would cause any problems. I have had low batteries and have been trying to keep them charged up, however have not had a chance to test them since I have been worried about this transmission problem. I will check on this tomorrow and see what happens. Once again thanks.
