THe only thing that can stall these , is If the fuel goes away or high pressure oil.. the HP pressure can go away for quite a few reasons . CPS , EOT, IDM ,PCM ,LPOP , to name a few .. Are you due for an oil change ? Is the C Case full ?...
So if the eot is cold it can make it go dead? The cps was replaced back in the summer. I don't know how to rule the rest out.
You still can't rule out CPS ,, EOT has to be read with a scanner,,, EOT can confuse the PCM as well ( Timing). Low pressure oil pump bad will leave the res empty at stall .. the rest will set a code ...
No codes... No scanner to read the eot but once the temp gauge started to move it cleaned up. Where is the res for lpop? How do I rule out the cps? I know I got a recall earlier in the summer and carried it to ford they "replaced" it then carried it to a friends for another reason and be said scanner picked up the cps. I took it back to ford and they checked and said guy didn't know what he is talking about. What are symptoms of cps failure?

CPS can cause a stall .. THe LPOP res is the rectangular aluminum thing right in front of the fuel bowl ...
Fuel pump question? Should you be able to hear the fuel pump in the 96 PSD like on the newer 7.3 PSD. I have a 1996, when I turn the key, I hear nothing, also on cold days, I do not get the rpm increase like on my 02.
so i sould not hear a buzz or any sounds when i turn the key, what about the cold rpm ramp up at idle, the jet sound. I can only base this on my 02 truck, I too am new to wrenching on these trucks, eventhough I bought my 02 new.
I was just told the jet sound is ebpv and is normal... Mine has higher idle cold atoms 8-900 rpms. One thing I have found though is these guys will help with just about any problem and as high as mechanics are you have to wrench on them yourselves... Or work for mechanics bills lol
