LOL, yeah. I couldn't see the forrest b/c all the trees were in the way. "FPR screen" did you rebuild the bowl when you pulled the pump last?
The screen is between the fuel cannister and the regulator. 2each 10mm bolts and a hose clamp will let you in.
If it was a "sock" you would not have the symptoms while pulling from the other tank. I would go with the screen. Take it all the way out and clean it up real good. You will be surprised how dirty that little fugger can get

Thank you Ian. When you go for the screen be careful dont loose the o-ring between the FPR anf bowl and the little plastic ball in the back of the plastic part which retains the screen, its between this plastic part and the FPR. OK?
No I didn't rebuild it. I will try the screen cleaning. I did clean the bowl well. It had a bunch of junk in it. If it was the screen it should still pump to the bowl right?

I rarely ever use the rear tank difficult to fill so I don't know if it does it on that tank. Do you think it would be worth my time pulling the bed off to check the tanks?
I would do the screen before anything, like ROENTGEEP suggested, (those are classic symptoms) . I would even take the time and get a O-ring kit from Jim and rebuild the canister and regulator just for peace in the mind when the weather breaks. I would pull the bed after you have exhausted all other bases. but that's just me. Let us know what you find out with the screen (should take 10-15 minutes). Where do you live? Where is your signature?
signature....upper left "CP User" button....then look on the left for "edit signature" on the left.
DZL JIM is one of the sponsors here. He will give you a link for the rebuild kit when he comes along.
You gonna try the screen today?
I appreciate that... If I can get the fuel issue and oil leak then maybe... Only other thing I don't like is it smokes like a freight train after it sets 8-10 hours cold or hot weather. I have talked to mechanic after mechanic and they don't know. One says injectors one says air in the fuel one says it normal... Diesels are definitely not like a gasser.
Is your oil filter dark/black? If so you may wanna replace the Injector O-rings too. How many miles do you have? Is your truck a daily driver? You have something else to drive?
Yea I have something else to drive... Shoot I have to can't keep this thing running long enough to be a primary...lol I just replaced 4 injectors... I would think the guy I paid $1200 would have checked all of the orings. The truck has 240,000 ish miles the oil filter? It is fram...
