I'm sorry, what color is the fuel filter.....With a basic tool set and this site, you will never have to PAY ANYBODY to look at your vehicle again!

I was wondering about this. I replaced the fuel pump and filter both the same day. 12/09/11 fuel filter now is dark grey and has had less ruM a full tank run on it.

If your filter is dark.... is an indication that your injector O-rings could be worn.

How is this job done? If it is would that improve mpg? The injector job seemed too much for me to handle. That's why I hired a "pro" lmao

If you have gas in you system your gonna have to fluse the whe system and empty the tanks and fill with good diesel

I would suck the tanks dry then blow the fuel lines back to the tanks ( feed and return) then suck the rest of the fuel out and fill with clean fuel

False alarm. I had my wife smell of it and she said diesel... Dang allergies. I got the new pump on and cleaned the fpr screen and wow what a difference. I don't know if I just got a bad pump or what but this thing has the best throttle response that is has ever had and good clean idle. It is still blowing white smoke but not nearly as much. We will see if this fixes it... Still got to do the oil cooler orings and gaskets but think I will wait to make sure its going to run first... Happy new year everyone!

Glad you got it going ...

Sorry to say , it wasn't the screen ... that is the fuel return line ...

You may still want to verify the tank pickups ...

Ok its about 30* outside the truck has been sitting all day and I cranked it when I got home. It fired right up but went dead twice before warm cranked right back then almost went dead again but caught itself. It seems to be running fine now. My truck doesn't have a plug so it has set in 28* wind chills all day. Are they that cold collared or do I have something wrong? It is around 6-700 rpm but when it about went dead it dropped around 300 then caught itself. I have noticed every once in a while you hear something sounds like air blowing from in behind the radio but lower and the truck choked down. Any help is greatly appreciated.
