Is there a simple place to reverse polarity on the blower motor? The reason I ask is I changed the heater core this summer. ( My pickup has factory A/C ) While I was there I thought I might as well change the blower motor. I made sure the motor turned the same direction as the old one ( no I don't remember which way is turned). As I've read on here with a search many folks are disappointed in their blower motor output. Mine is disappointing too. So it got me to thinking. What if someone changed the motor before and wired it up backwards and I followed them?? Hence the "is there a simple way to reverse the polarity"? Then I'd be able to see if the other direction works better without all the hassle of doing it all twice again.
well i think it be quit difficult to wire it backwards everyone i've seen had a spade on one wire to plug into harness and the other end was a ground lug
Mine had no spades or lugs. It was hard wired. Previous owner used butt splices I used solder and heat shrink. I'm just curious if polarity is wrong or not.
I can't remember if the motor is one wire or two, but if it was possible to wire it backwards your motor would suck (literally) instead of blow.
Your problem lies elsewhere...
It's a scroll type blower, so it would still blow if the polarity is reversed, just much less effectively.
Unfortunately, I don't know of any easy way to swap the polarity to check. It's been a while, but if I remember correctly, mine was also a single wire with a spade, and then a ground cable.
