heater problem, not my ford...
first let me apoligize for bringing my GM problem here but not having much luck anywhere else and I know there is alot of knowlage here so...if you have any ideas that might help throw them out for me!
My wifes car is a 06' pontaic torrent suv and this morning I went to turn the heater on and when I turned the fan speed dial I heard the blower start for a split second and then nothing...I checked the fuse under the hood and it is good, I replaced the relay with a new one in the passanger kick panel, still not working...I also am getting power (12v) to the blower motor only when I disconnect the plug to the blower when I connect it back to the motor I get nothing???
I took the motor out and ran a + and - 12guage wire from the battery and when I touch them to the blower motor prongs I can get the motor to blip on for a second but I can't hold that motor and keep the wires attached for very long to keep the motor spinning but it appears the motor works. (I think)...
any ideas?
can't have the wife driving my rig or listening to her complain about her heater not working!!! help!
Thanks guys!!

In any event, it sounds like a wiring issue. Your heater fan will generally work on the high setting even if you have a bad resistor module. The high setting is straight through, and it usually continues to work.
You might try hooking a test light to the connector and testing the 12v that way. That will load the circuit so you can see if it has high resistance.
You can often find 'pigtail' connectors to fix bad connector issues. They're connectors with short wires attached. You cut off the old connector and use butt splices to put on the pigtail. If that's not it, it could be the switch or(gulp) the wire harness.
Also, You can verify your motor a little better by using one lead of a jumper cable to connect to the battery +. Connect the clamp on the other end to a short wire that you can hold on the motor.
Good Luck,
hj
Thanks everyone for you help!
