I have a chance to get a rebuilt c6 tansmission that was bolted to a 330cid from a school bus, don't know much about this engine and was wondering if this tranny would be the same bolt pattern as my c6 which is bolted to a 351c small block. I no that the c6's had a few different bolt patterns if i'm not mistaken.
As far as I know the 330 is from the same general FE family so I don`t think it will work since there were different bolt patterns for each of the different series of Ford engines. You need one from a small block Ford like a 302 or a 351, I think that Cleveland and Windsors were the same pattern.
It`s best to check in one of the FTE forums such as the Clutch, Transmission, Differential, Axle & Transfer Case forum: Clutch, Transmission, Differential, Axle & Transfer Case - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
On my 1958 International half ton that has a stock 264 cid inline 6. I could unboly remove the motor place in a 409 V8 (using the mounts it has on it from whatever it come out of) bolt it up to my bellhousing and clutch and go.
Also if so needed I could use the whole front clip from a 3ton as replacement body parts exact same....
I guess I should say tho I love my Ford I love my Ford I love my Ford
