I'm getting ready to buy my x3 for my 2003 f250 5.4 tonight from Mike at 5 star but I'm having trouble locating the pcm code. I've been looking around near the parking brake for a code, friend told me to take off a black plastic cover but I don't see any code. Where might this code be? And its 4 characters long correct? Thank you!

 

There are two codes a strategy code and a PCM code. The PCM code is on a sticker stuck to the end of the PCM. You have to remove the black plastic cover and to do that you have to pull the entire PCM. The strategy code is stored in the PCM and you need a tuner to read it. The strategy code sticker was stuck on the door jam but it is probably gone by now.

Luckily my friend had his SCT x3 from his mustang in his car with him, so we used that and we are all set now. time to get my tunes! thanks!
