I have a 2004 F250 5.4L 4x4 & I'm trying to find the PCM ID number. I see the pcm box on the divers side in front of the parking brake under the dash & it's held on by 2 screws. Do I have to remove the 2 screws & pull out this box to see the PCM code on the inside of the box? I removed the screws & tried pulling the box it but it isn't budging. Any help would be appriciated.
Thanks
Jim
I had a hard time finding the code too, until I asked Mike at 5-star tuning where I got my tuner from.
Remove the two screws, and remove the plastic bracket holding the PCM. Push the bracket to the right VERY far, and it should come out, leaving the PCM in place.
On the end of the PCM facing you should be a label with the calibration code on it.
Make sure you look under the hood and make sure there are no other stickers around with another calibration code on it - if a dealer has reflashed the PCM, it might not be the same code any longer.
Thank you SOOO very much. I'm trying to order mine from Mike @ 5 Star also but I need that code ID.
Thanks again
BTW- I see Mike sells the alum Y pipe now. I know the alumn Flowmaster rusts out in a year or so, how long w/ the alumn Y pipe last. Sould I get the stainless instead?
I can't vouch for the y-pipe of any type. I have the "aluminized" version, and gone through one salty winter here on Long Island. It still looks almost new except for where I scratched it putting it on.
