211,000 miles

We hear all the horror stories. Now here's a good one! I met an '08 6.4 with 211,000 miles on the odo down in Tennessee. It was a second owner truck, so don't know its complete history, but owner seemed happy with it.

Mine has over 85K on the clock and just completed the 700 mile 24,000 pound return trip from Tennessee in super shape.

It is nice to hear success stories! I have heard of a few in the 200K range. Hope there are more.

Lots over the 100K range now.

That's the problem with society today. Not sure how accurate this is, but there's a saying, "If someone has a good experience they'll usually only tell 1-2 people while someone who has a bad experience will often tell 5 or more." Even the news is >90% negative. I can't even watch it, I feel like I get depressed.

I wonder how many people initially register for these forums because they are having some sort of issue that they are trying to figure out.

I often try to have a little small talk with SD owners when I see them getting out in a parking lot or at the pump. I have to say, I really haven't found too many 6.4 owners that aren't happy with their truck. Biggest complaint is mileage but no horror stories or major issues that weren't covered under warranty and handled properly.

I ran into a guy who has a 7.3 at the gas station. First words out of his mouth "You must like spending money". He informed me how bad the 6.4l are and how much fuel they burn. How I was going to have problems before him. I told him I get 15 mpg back and forth to work and 21 mpg on the hiway. He shut up.
