Need steering help/pics
Ok so my 74 F250 4x4 apparently has a PS conversion. I was told the gear box is out of a 2wd. Whoever did it just pieced it together. Could someone post some pics of what their PS looks like? I need pics of the pump, gear box, the rod thing that comes off the column into the gear box, and pics of the pitman arm and shots from in the wheel well please.

Ok so it looks like i need a new steering shaft. The way they did the conversion, the old shaft is just worn out and if i go with the same style, it will just happen again. Does anyone know of a shaft that i can get that had a ball joint or something? Im not sure how to explain the prob but when i turn, the shaft needs more play/room to rotate at the joints is what i think im trying to say....

I do not have any experiance with the vib damper one, but I would say its a fitting with built in (steering) vibration dampening device? Possible the same as the steering damper shock on your tie rod? Help control/hide bump steer.....
The universal one is a custom (you cut to length) application it easy and nice to ditch the old worn out design for 2 steel u joints. I got one for my 77 a while back and another FTE'er just did his this week.

Yea you can make a mistake only once.....lol. You usually end up cutting the inner soild part of the shaft first and then the outer slip cover get shortened a little to allow for compression in an accident.
Cut it with a 14" chop saw is the easy route, 4" grinder the hard road, but not as hard as with a hand hack saw.
Your call on which one, I run the non vib damper one. Do a search on it, there is a guy that just did his with the vib one. No word on it yet, of course he did it like yesterday.
