thermometer reads ---°F
The instrument cluster thermometer in our 2004 F150 that recently stopped working. It started by just reading way off then stopped working all together, now it reads "---°F". Will simply replacing the temp sensor on the radiator support fix this or does the computer need to be re flashed? (I read somewhere this was a fix) thanks

try unplugging sensor and inspect for corrosion first, these sensors do go out of range from time to time. its not uncommon to replace temp sensors on over the road refer units like thermo king or carrier for out of range or eroneus readings, that is not to say that the electronics that the sensor imputs too are fail proof either.

2004 FORD F-150 Ambient Air Temperature Sensor
I had this problem, went to the site linked above, and bought the sensor. Very cheap. Snapped it on, everything was cool. (or hot, but accurately displayed).
