Same ratio. I got a quote of $1071 with new everything from Ford. New ring and pinion, bearings, pinion seal, axle seals, fluid, labor, everything. All Ford parts. I guess I was wondering if there were better brand gears that I could go with while it was apart.

Why would you want new gears? Now days they are extremely hard and with the new oils they virtually never wear out unless the oil is very contaminated or is has run very low. Why blow your money on a new ring and pinion and risk the chance of a slight howl etc? It's kind of like replacing your nice straight bumper, what for?
From another thread, his rear is toast. Needs new rear or rebuild his.
If this is the case I would just pick up a used ring and pinion. You can tell right away if it was run low on oil etc. Either they are good and will last forever with synth oil or they are shot.
