Will a T18 shifter, fit a T19?
I've recently converted my truck from auto to manual, using an NP435 trans that I'd been given, with the intention of installing a close-ratio T19 when I found one......they're rare over here, as all Aussie-built manual F-trucks had 435's.
Two days ago I found a T19 for sale, that's missing it's shifter.
But I do have a T18 shifter.
I know these two trannies have different tops, but will the shifters swap?
Thanks

The part numbers are different (with one exception), so the shift levers are mostly different.
T-19's installed in F350's beginning in 1979, F250's in 1983. Also installed in 1968/77 P Series Parcel Delivery, 1968 and later F500/750's and F500/750 Open Drive-Away's.
T-18 & T-19 shift lever same: F500/750's (not Open Drive-Away's).

Thanks ND.
So this makes it look likely that shape is the difference, but they should swap otherwise?
I hope so; the close-ratio trans would really be the making of this truck for my situation.
Does anyone know of these shifters being swapped satisfactorily?

the shifters can be swapped assuming the length of the fingers (length of material between the bottom of the ball that rests in the cradle and the bottom end of the shift lever) are the same. there are two different lengths. i have a CR t19 with a finger length of 3.5 in but there are t18s that have finger lengths of 3 1/8 in. - the lengths of the levers themselves differ by a few inches as well, but not really enough to matter much, as long as you can use a hot wrench and reshape the contour of it.
