On user CP.....update avatar......then upload your pic....pics in a post are different....you need a photo site like photobucket.....then you copy the IMG code....and paste in your reply
As previously stated - update the avatar for a picture to show in the upper left.
For posting pictures in the body of a post you can use photobucket or better yet you can use post pictures from the FTE. A lot of people post using photobucket or other software but later move the pictures or change the albums on photobucket and the links are broken. To use the FTE for posting pictures you must first create a album and you can then use the img code. To create a album you go to "User CP", then to "Edit Gallery" and finally to "create album". Pretty simple to upload pictures into the album.
You can resize pictures in Photobucket too. Click on the thumbnail picture to put it up as the only picture showing (but not 'full size'). Move your mouse up toward the upper left corner of the picture and wait for the gray button bar to show up over your picture in that upper left corner. Find the one toward the center of that group for resize. Choose something smaller, I usually choose 640x480, and it'll resize it for your.
Now if the file is too big to upload to Photobucket, I'm not sure if that can happen or not, but if it does, use Microsoft Picture Manager as wpnaes said to resize it some for uploading.
Another Image you might wanna know about is your signature image witch is the one on the bottom left corner of most members posts. That option comes after you've posted more than 25 posts. I personally like to see posts with lots of images. Welcome to FTE..
