How to post pics- The Tutorial
I've been seeing a lot of people asking how to post pics. Most people seem to use Photobucket (PB) so I threw a little step action together.
First step is, go to Photobucket.com
Then create a free account,
Next you can either start uploading pics straight to the main account or you can creat sub-folders to organize your pics. Note, if you resize your pics first to a more manageable size, they'll upload faster. You can use several tools for this. I use Microsoft PowerToys Image Resizer for 7/Vista, there's also Image Resizer (XP). It gets built right into your right click, very simple.
Once you upload your pics you need to copy a URL link to paste to your post. This is how the site finds your pic hosted by PB. Now, my URL address links will look different than yours as I deleted some from with my PB options. For best results, you can either use IMG Code or DIRECT Link address.
Hover your cursor over the desired pic and a window just below will open. Next, hover over the IMG Code or DIRECT Link white box and left click, it will say Copied.
* IMG Code- If you use this link, you can copy the URL address directly to your text box and it should work fine. If you have problems with IMG Code here or on some other board, you can use DIRECT Link. It accomplishes the same thing, just adds a few steps. Different link types work for different boards.
Copying the IMG Code link,
If you're done, hit preview to make sure it worked correctly. If not, move your cursor below the pic's URL and continue to either type text or post another pic.
Since IMG Code is so simple, I've included the steps for DIRECT Link below.
Copying the DIRECT Link address,
You've just copied your pic's address link, now you have to paste the address into your post. When you're ready to post your pic, click on the square yellow icon with a mountain and sun in the tool area above your text box.
A new window opens,
Then right click and paste,
Hit enter, it should look like this,
Hitting Preview,
Once you're certain your pics and post are as desired, hit submit. You're good to go .

For a one time picture post, I can see how Tiny Pic would be very convenient. But once you register at Photobucket, it's just as easy to upload a picture, or multiple pictures like from a vacation, and then share them with friends or family, or post them on a forum.

Thanks guys, hope this helps. I also thought about posting this in the 7.3 forum but thought that may be double posting.
It appears Tinypic.com is owned by Photobucket. Your link shows this at the bottom, © 2004-2009 TinyPic®, a Photobucket Video & Photo Sharing Company. Interesting. It's hard to know who owns who anymore.
I wouldn't call Photobucket nonsense. Aside from mass pic/video storage and uploading, you can order prints and edit your pics. Cropping, resizing, bluring out faces or license plates, fixing red eye, etc.
As Stewart said, for a one time deal, your TP link is faster but usually when people start uploading pics, They don't stop at one. They upload more and more and build collections of pics online to save time. I have a mini library on PB with several categories of pics to quickly reference.

I have several hotmail accounts, and any of them allow me to sign up for the Windows Live Skydrive storage service.
In Skydrive I can store a huge amount of data, make it public, private, or limited to those with certain Windows Live accounts, as I wish.
So photos I reference on FTE, I upload to a public folder on my Skydrive account. Each photo has its own URL, a rather long string of HTML, which is simple to cut and past using the "Insert Image" tool FTE presents on its thread posting utility. On the menu I see in my browser, "Insert Image" is the 3rd from the right most icon on the 2nd line of the editing menu -- see attached image, this icon is circled in red:
I used one of my Skydrive public folders to put this image into this reply.
