'06 PSD won't start

So, about 3 months ago she started taking 5-6 seconds to start instead of 1-2. 2 weeks ago I ran it for 10 or so miles stopped, and when I tried starting again it took 20 seconds or so. Last night I drove 8 miles to the Hess station and it wouldn't fire back up. I tried 7-8 times or so waiting 2-5 minutes between each try. I had it towed to a mechanic. He assumed it was the fuel pump. He just called and said it fired right up. He said he checked and there are no codes. He's going to do a few more tests and call me later. Any ideas?

Starter getting weak would be my guess. Not spinning the motor over quite fast enough.

Sorry. I should have mentioned, it sins perfectly fine. And the mechanic mentioned that the fuel pressure was spotty.

Go to the 6.0 forum and look in the Tech Folder. There is an excellent No Start thread that will walk you through the tests.

Since its an 06 and it seems like it starts fine when cold, but when it warms up it does not want to start.

STC fitting. Snap To Connect fitting on the HPOP, while you do that, you should update the standpipes and dummy plugs to bullet proof the HPO system

Thanks Tyler and everyone else
I think you nailed it. They replaced the hpop and oil cooler as well. Total cost was $2500. Better than spending $1000 a month on a new truck.
