Engine stumbles after sitting for 5+hours
I have an 04 F250..
The problem is this..
When the truck sits for 5+ hours, and i start it and leave, once the truck gets to between 2000 - 2500rpms, it seems as though its running out of fuel..
the engine stumbles, and has no power.. if you put more pedal into it, the boost shows an increase, but it stumbles harder..
if you just let the truck idle for 15+ minutes, for the most part it runs normall when leaving..
the less time you let it idle, the longer it takes to clean out..
if i baby it, and keep the rpms low until i'm at about 45-50mps, and drive normally then, it usually clears up within a mile or 2..
mods/maint that was done to the truck..
the truck has 221k
has had 1 injector replaced
HP oil pump replaced
oil cooler replaced
EGR valve/cooler delete kit
EDGE programmer setting on Tow function
4" exhaust
FICM software upgraded
new injector/engine harness's
the issue was not there when i first got the truck,
got the truck with 211k on it
issue started showing 2wks after a long trip
truck starts and idles fine
starts fine whether hot/cold
codes being thrown
2 for the egr valve
1 for the injector i changed (contribution/balance)-only shows when boosting 20 or greater
i'm guessing the injector code is being thrown as the truck is seeing the new injector as being different than the other 7.. injector has been changed and moved holes, and code follow..
but the issue came up months after the injector was throwing the code
i have not checked fuel pressure nor FICM voltages
no fluid leaks/migration issues..
hopefully that is enough information for someones input as to what it might be, if more is needed please let me know!
Thanks

Cheezit, my sg2 is showing two DTCs but will only show one code which is "insufficient egr flow" the other I guess is a minor code or something, my truck is doin about the same thing but does it when hot also and now is starting to have a little hiccup at idle in gear. Would an injector failing show a code? I'm waiting on another FICM from a buddy to try and see if it cures it but til then just tryin other stuff...
Thanks

I have same problem. Was told its my AIT2 sensor.I need to pull it and clean with carb cleaner its all gunked up and not reading the temp correctly till the engine warms up.as a result giving the pcm faulty temp numbers and its one of the sensors used to figure out where the turbo vains are positioned at.

I checked my FICM voltage, and the lowest it got was 47.8 while the injectors were pulsing, and the glowplugs were on.. once the engine was started, it stabilized at 48.1VDC..
AIT2 i'm guessing is referring to the intake air temp sensor?
and if its an injector issue cheezit, would i see any codes?
as i posted before, the only code i get for injectors is the one for the one injector i've already changed..
it will give me a contribution/balance code..
it moved with the injector, so i know its not a wiring issue..
so wasnt sure if maybe the truck was seeing a difference between the new injector, and the other 7 that have 220k on them..
Thanks
