I'd like to get my truck into my shop and install my new guage pod. But I can't because there's a 2006 Dodge with a rod hanging out of the block that's in the way. It's my future son-in-law's truck, but it won't cost him too much because he has a donor engine in another truck. It's new because he blew the one up in it too, and it was replaced under warranty. He doesn't drive them particularly hard, and he takes care of them, but he still blew 2 up.
I'll keep my 6.0. It might not be as good as a Cummins, but I like it, and the rods are still attached to the crank.
Well my question orignally was about a 7.3L swap, not the Cummins.. I would rather go with the 7.3L swap if I did one, I have been told that it would be an easier to do the swap, and I love the 7.3L, but like I said I have been having great luck with my 6.0L.
Myself, I wouldn't do it. I have the capibilities to do it, but it would seem that for a lot less time and money, you could get the 6.0 bulletproof, and it should outperform the 7.3. But I guess you could always tune the 7.3 to beat it. What about a smog test, it wouldn't pass that I wouldn't think...don't know if Oregon has tests or not.
Just give it time, Ford will be back to the 7.3L sooner than you think. They already have gone from 6.0 to 6.4 to the current 6.7, they are almost there. They should have just invested in the 7.3 and made it emissions legal.

So true!!!! The 7.3L was the only reason I became a Ford fan. Oh well. But like I said I have had great luck with my 6.0L and I am hoping it stays that way.

Being Eastern Oregon they dont do any vehicle tests, nothing like the western part of Oregon or Washington.
ah, I was really talking more about swaping a Cummins into a Ford.
If someone were to really want a 7.3 and have the 05+body style, they make everything to swap the body parts out(bumpers headlights etc) to make it look like an 05. IMO that would be easier
You are forgetting about the best- and only important 04-05 change- The front axle and suspension! -Mike
