no, i posted a seperate thread on the turbo issue, i will get it i just gave up for today, the sun went down and i was calling it a day. i watched a video by the master tech and he bolted the turbo up then used a ratcheting strap to pull the Y-pipe to the turbo, was just trying to find the best method
Thanks Benny. It told me to keep those 4 bolts loose in the instructions on my oem oil cooler and it worked great for me (also had the wheel cover off on passenger side)
You have your exhaust manifold bolts that connect to the y pipe loose and up pipe bolts loose when your trying to connect the Turbo?
You the man! Reps given, I went and loosened the passenger exhaust manifold to up pipe bolts and that allowed me to move the up pipe at the turbo flange wherever I needed it to get it on the turbo. I forgot to get the updated turbo oil feed line , mine has the flex pipe in it, I gotta get the updated unit
Well, just finished mounting the oil cooler condensor today, buttoned her up and just got back driving it around to get it up to operating temp, she is smoking a little from the turbo area but I put a lot of anti-sieze on the up pipe of the turbo and y-pipe connections so I think that is what I am smelling burning off. I am still waiting on my new turbo oil feed line to arrive so Fo now I am still using the old feed, so far I can't find any leaks except the oil tube to the valve cover that I took off,I tightened some more and that seems to be good, it is nice now I won't ever have to worry about doing this job for the cooler ever again. And the ect/eot temps are neck and neck but not that it matters any more just as I shut the truck off ect=190,eot=195
thanks, I cut open the old oil cooler last night, I cut it right in the middle, then i tried to get water to flow through it with a garden hose, it was so clogged it shot back out the fill side, mind you it is now cut in half, there was so much crap in there that it must not have been flowing any coolant.
from what I found in there it was mostly small pieces of metal, or scale, i put a magnet next to these small pieces and they stuck to it, so alot of it wasn't casting sand like i thought it would be. I have to thank FTE and all of you guys for the advice to get the scanguage, it caught it before it caused alot of damage and potentially left me stranded with my family away from home.....Thanks guys!
