Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone could help me with an issue I have with my VIN number. It's F14BLBC6632 which tells me it's a 1978 F-150 4x4 that came with a 300 I6 and was built at Michigan Truck but I only have the VIN # from the dash and title. The VIN tag on the door is from a 77 F-100 which the door came from. Is there any way that I can figure out what else is supposed to be on my VIN tag?
You can order a Marti Report, this will have all the info on your truck. You can also order a replacement warranty plate (that's what Ford calls it, not VIN tag) for your door. Marti Auto Works - Concourse Quality, Hobbyist Price
Also, dash mounted VIN plates didn't happen untill the 80's. Double check your VIN with the FRAME VIN, that's the important one. It's on the top right (passenger) side frame rail, between the radiator support and firewall, most commonly about inline with the alternator.
