Hello,
My truck has amber reflectors on the front fenders. The fenders appear to be pressed or stamped from the inside and the reflectors are screwed on over them. Has anybody seen these on other fenders? Just curious why they would be stamped like that. The truck seems to be a unrestored old work truck from the west coast.
Thanks for any info,
Tom
An export truck was my guess, as well. I know we've seen reflectors like that before here and it was a real deal. I don't remember who or where. But I noticed Tom is in Rhode Island, so it's hard to say where it would've been exported to and back again. It would be interesting to have more history.
The truck came to the east coast about 6 years ago. The title that I got with the truck was from Las Vegas. Here's a picture of the plate. Other than that, I don't have much info on the truck. With the two spare tires, heavy duty bumper and tons of tie down hooks, it probably was busy back in the day.
Amber side markers or reflectors were not required in US until 60's. Also there is no part number in the Ford parts manual for a front fender reflector.

That's why we suspected it was built for export. Europe has a lot of requirements we don't. For instance, when parked, putting on the left turn signal must light all parking lights on the left side of the car (only).
