Thanks Mike. Good news is no hop leak but what would cause a new IPR to melt at the tip with only 40 min of running

Sorry that was no hpop leak ( I used a know good IPR valve to do the test)

What exactly do you mean by melt? I've never heard of that happening. What was the engine oil temperature on the truck in question? Never mind that. If it was running THAT hot, how about the plastic oil filter standpipe? Did that ever distort or melt?

Well it was distorted in shape obviously from heat but it has a new oil cooler , lpop egr cooler, head gaskets, ARP studs, and all that goes with it. Bottom line is that it was not accuating at all and is brand new. So I figured hpop system leak but when went to test it was not working so I removed it and found that the plastic tip was distorted and concave like bit had been melted?

Okay, you would be far from the first to have come across this happening, especially very shortly after a major repair like this where the engine has been very "deep into".

So what am I looking at now? More repairs or just replace the ICP?
