HPOP air test
I will be pulling the HPOP cover tomorrow to check for any leaks. Should any oil be drained before applying 100 psi air to top of the HPOP? How long should the air pressure be applied? If I don't hear any leaks at that point, should I apply air to the ports under the valve covers, or does that initial test cover all areas from the HPOP to the injectors? Are there any other areas of the HPOP to inspect while I have the top of the engine disassembled?

only thing is dont leave voltage to ipr longer then 2 min at a time.

I will have the HPOP cover off and supplying air at the top of the pump. No IPR will be present.

Anybody have any advice on this before I start pushing air into the system....

My Scan Gauge will arrive today, so hopefully I will have some more information on the no hart restart situation I am currently in.

You have to apply the air long enough to push the oil out of the system. You really can't drain the HPO system.

If voltage is not applied to the IPR should air be heard?

Thanks mustang and second is will a plug off an 04 be the same as the plug on a 06 IPR electrical connection?

Yes, I'll even go as far as saying it is even the same wiring pigtail as the ones used for the VGT solenoids on these engines, and the same as the pigtail used for 7.3L injectors.

its close enugh to the 7.3 injector it will work but they are not the same. wet looms dont have a weather pack seal

Thanks mike I got it this morning from the dealer! You are a walking talking 6.0 service and parts manual! does it matter which wire is ground and which is positive on the IPR?

Red is positive. Yellow with red stripe is negative.
