Not that I am aware of. It should have just been secured with three bolts.

just looking

My 91 has a starter mounting bracket that has broken and the starter dangles, do you happen to know where I can find a starter mounting bracket for a 91 F350 with a 7.3 IH

Are you talking about the aluminum spacer that goes between the engine and the transmission or another starter bracket of some kind?

I will see if they have one. When we attempted to buy a thermostat housing that We broke the ear on, the only new one was from International for around $300 and Ford no longer carried them. We had to go to pick-a-part. I am wondering if Ford will have starter brackets ( base) for this year and model.

Somehow the starter which was of course bolted to the block, someway broke the mounting base where the nose goes into transmission. I don't know what, whoever the last one that touched it done,to cause it to break . We could easly push start the truck but couldn't mechanically start it. We were afraid the block was destroyed but found there is a mounting plate/bracket that holds it up. we are now on the internet sights ( Amazon and others) looking for the plate even now.

So.... Something like the pictures in THIS THREAD? If that's what you need, you can either choose to buy the spacer or to have it welded as William did. If you want to buy one, send me a PM. I have one from the engine I am parting out I will make you a deal on.

Sounds like a good deal for $30. As long as it is from another 7.3 you should be golden.

We have a wire feed and an arc welder but neither one of us felt comfortable welding it, Son drove to some shops that either didn't want to weld it or couldnt weld it. One told Son that he would weld it but we would have to find a shop to clean it up andcheck it. So we will just buy one ( Hopefully).

I guess for $30 it might not be worth messing with welding it unless you're in a hurry.

Im not sure of the difference, but make sure that bracket is the same on your IDI as it is on our powerstrokes....you may want to hop on over to the IDi section and make sure.
