1950 Starter Support Bracket?
Apparently I've never had one. Just replaced a Bendix bolt and noticed that I should have one. The bracket goes from the top bolt of the starter to one of the bolts on the oil pan. It's part #11140 according to the manual.
Anyone have one of these they can spare or know where I can get one?
Obviously I've been getting by without one but I'd rather not risk stripping the 2 bolts that hold the starter to the motor.
Thanks in advance,
Mark Hendricks

early ford v-8 sales in ballston spa, ny has them for $3.95 plus shipping. it you realy, realy don't want to make your own, that might be an option. the main value of them is to stabilize the starter to prevent jamming the bendix gear into the flywheel (been there, done that) is it ok to mention a vendor here?? dick r.

Only basic part numbers are shown in all the Ford parts catalog illustrations.
To get the complete bracket part number, you need to look in the parts catalog text.
The complete bracket part number is 1A-11140-A, it also was used on passenger cars.
