Apparently I've never had one. Just replaced a Bendix bolt and noticed that I should have one. The bracket goes from the top bolt of the starter to one of the bolts on the oil pan. It's part #11140 according to the manual.
Anyone have one of these they can spare or know where I can get one?
Obviously I've been getting by without one but I'd rather not risk stripping the 2 bolts that hold the starter to the motor.
early ford v-8 sales in ballston spa, ny has them for $3.95 plus shipping. it you realy, realy don't want to make your own, that might be an option. the main value of them is to stabilize the starter to prevent jamming the bendix gear into the flywheel (been there, done that) is it ok to mention a vendor here?? dick r.
You can mention vendors here, you can even provide website or other hyperlinks. Thanks for the heads up. Can you give me the hyperlink to the site where you found the bracket.
Health issues preclude me from doing the smart thing, which would be to build my own bracket.
I assume that this is Dick Spadero's business. Yes?. I did not see his name on the website provided and I thought that he was in business a lot before 1993. Did he sell it perhaps?
early ford v-8 is owned by lou and carole grosso. they are located in curtis industrial park on route 67 just outside of the village of ballston spa, ny. dick spadero, i believe, is still in business, i think south of albany somewhere, selkirk? dick r
