Hi guys i think i have a stuck lifter on my 1990 F150 4x4 351W i though i was doing the right thin and when i changed the oil ther other day i ran a bottle of engine cleaner threw befor i dropped the oil now my motor sounds great when it is sitting iddle in the shed but once its under load it sounds like there like a truck with the exhuast brake on (very loud and pooping noise coming from the end of the exhaust pipe) my mate has said they it sounds like a stuck liffter has anyone got any advise on how to change thease out

sounds like a flat lobe on the cam or a rocker has come apart... pull the valve covers and make sure all the rockers move close to the same.. I never did like using those engine cleaners on high mileage engines... you just loosen up small chit and it gets stuck in stuff... leave in stuck to the oil pan where it wont hurt a thing..

 

Thanks i will give that a go and report back i no i did a stupid thing by puting the cleaner threw the motor but it only has 110000 kms on the speedo so i though id get away from it but as ususal i was wrong

also check the firing order might have a plug wire on wrong
