HelP Please Stuck Lifter
Hi guys i think i have a stuck lifter on my 1990 F150 4x4 351W i though i was doing the right thin and when i changed the oil ther other day i ran a bottle of engine cleaner threw befor i dropped the oil now my motor sounds great when it is sitting iddle in the shed but once its under load it sounds like there like a truck with the exhuast brake on (very loud and pooping noise coming from the end of the exhaust pipe) my mate has said they it sounds like a stuck liffter has anyone got any advise on how to change thease out

Remove the intake manifold, remove the rocker arm of the lifter you want to replace, remove the pushrod, and replace the lifter.

Based on what you stated it sounds more like a stuck exhaust valve, one stuck part or all the way open, more then say a stuck lifter. Not to say a lifter couldn't be holding one open, just its no where near as likely a condition to happen.

Thanks i will try have a look and see if all the rockers and valves are moving the same thanks to everyone for your help i am a first time f truck owner and i am way out of my depth but im determined to work all the issues out my self
