hey i was looking at a truck a guy has for sale its a 89 f 250 4x4 with a 351w.he said it has a stuck lifter from adding to much oil not sure what that means.how much money does a stuck lifter run to fix?not sure if i can fix something like that myself or have to bring it to a shop maybe.i didnt see the truck in person yet it was in a local paper for sale.can you drive a truck with a stuck lifter at all?im guessing you can but it wont run to good?if i can get hte truck for a decent price and the lifter isnt alot of cash to fix i may buy it.what does a stuck lifter do make a clicking sound?any info will help thanks

Too much oil will not cause a stuck lifter.

If you take to a shop it would be quite a bit. If you do it yourself it would be about $30.00 for gaskets and a lifter if it were a lifter.

Yes you can drive them.

Oh it will run Ok most of the time but you would lose a little power.

Yes it does.
That all said you need to pull off the spark plug wires one at a time and see if the clicking sound stops. If it does you will need to rebuild the engine, it is not the lifter.
Sometimes if it is a lifter an oil change to a good 10W30 oil and a new filter will fix it. You can also try a can of some kind of magic oil treatment to fix it.
Most of the time a bad lifter is just a dirty lifter with something stuck under the check ball.
