For those of you that didn't see it in the door lock thread, and may not have seen this before. Here is your Universal OBS key should you ever lock yourself out of your truck.
70's-80's Ford truck brake master cylinder lid clip. Works perfectly to open the wing window. Wiggle it under the rubber of the wing window, and the bends work perfectly to pull in on the button, and turn the lever at the same time. Enjoy
D'OH!!!!! The way I look at it, if someone wants in bad enough, they will get in. Plus, if they steal my truck, I automatically get to build another one with the insurance money.

Me too... If someone steals either one of my trucks I couldn't build the same trucks again with the insurance money. LOL.
I have a semi-universal key for my trucks. The key for my PSD will unlock and start my F-150 and the key for my F-150 will unlock my PSD, but will not start it b/c I changed the ignition. haha
Ok, so I'll be the one to ask the obvious, probably stupid question:
So for this to work you need to break into another truck with that style master cylinder clip, open your window, then return the donor truck to working order?
I got one from a junk master cylinder. Leave it laying in the bed. Nobody knows what it is.
Listen people...... It's not a matter of having one, or robbing one off someones truck. It's another option to open your truck if you are locked out! Look around..... Hey there's a guy with an older truck, "excuse me sir, I've locked myself out of my truck. There is a neat trick to unlock our trucks using a clip from your truck. Would you like to see it? I won't hurt or damage any part of your truck, you have my word."
Is a hide-a-key better, yes. It's just another option if you are in a bind. 70's and 80's trucks are a dime a dozen, odds are there will be one around with a nice owner. If you are lost in the damn digital age and don't have the ability to talk to people face to face, call pop-a-lock.

In Texas, maybe. Florida and parts of Cali too. But most of the rest of the country has something called snow, and uses something called salt, and therefore, those "dime a dozen" '70s and '80s trucks are about as often seen as hen's teeth. I can slide a spare key in the side compartment of my Leatherman tool pouch ("don't leave home without it..."). A bail from an old-school M/C lid, no so much.
Still, a nugget of knowledge worth having; you never know....
