blend door and steering problem
I recently bought a 2006 F-150 Lariat. It's my first truck and I love it but I do have a few issues and I was hoping someone might have a suggestion.
I brought it in to a dealer a few weeks ago to diagnose a grinding/creaking noise when adjusting the temperature. They recommended replacing the blend door actuator.
They also inspected a sort of grinding sensation in the steering wheel which seems to me is coming from the rack and pinion. It is most noticable when performing a long turn (round-a-bout or round on/off ramp) and I am slightly moving the steering from one side to another when adjusting to the curve of the road. They recommended replacing a serpentine belt tensioner and pulley which were noisy.
I ended up replacing the parts myself because it was not covered under the extended warranty. Neither of the dealerships recommendations fixed the issues but I am glad that the tensioner and pulley were noticed.
Anyone know anything about these issues?
Thanks in advance!
