how to move front guard forward

hi, i would like to know how to move front guard forward as i replaced door rubber with a new one and it seems to be rubbing on door trim when opening. the new rubber seems to be to thick and has caused it to be hard to shut now - needs to be closed hard and has made door sit out some.. do you have trouble over in USA with your door rubbers ? - are there better quality ones one the market ? back to the guard how many bolts need to be undone before it can be moved. thanks for any help. steve.

What exactly is a "front guard"? I am racking my brain trying to figure out what you might need to move as a result of putting new seals on the doors.

Are you talking about the front fender rubbing on the door, because of the thick weatherstripping?

I know the doors have to be adjusted to the new rubber weatherstrips if the doors were adjusted in the past, and the weatherstrips also have to seat and conform to the doors. This should take a few weeks to a month.

Also when the cab is properly sealed, the 1980-1986 doors are very hard to close normally without a vent open somewhere. This actually led to a design change to the doors in 1987. The bottom of the 1987-1996 doors have a vent to allow closing of the doors easier.
