Doors wont close

For some reason, the doors on my 68 dont want to close when I've got the door seals installed. You don't even have to hardly push the door to make it close nicely without them, and the doors are lined up with the body perfectly. Has anyone ever tried trimming the weatherstrip to make it thinner?

This happened to me when I installed mine new. I just slammed them real hard for a couple of weeks and they seemed to get broken in. Although the wrong time of the year, it would also help to close the doors and park it out in the sun to help break in the seals quicker. I definitely would not trim the seals.

I had the same thing happen to me. It is an easy fix. Just swap the right for the left.

Problem is, that these aren't new seals, they were hard to close before, I just put the doors and roof back on for the winter time. Swapping the left and right door seals doesn't seem right, as there is a big chunk of rubber that goes on the back side of the door where it meets the roof, and this wont fit in the fornt corner.

It is possible that the door strikers are adjusted too far inward to allow for the width of the seals. Try moving them out enough so that the door will close, but will not misalign the door with the body.
